English Language Challenges

Hello everyone for last time in this semester. Today I’ll to talk about my experience using blogs and what kind of skills I add to my daily life.

Have the opportunity of practice and develop English skills I consider really useful, the competition for great and important jobs will more and more difficult and this class was very necessary. I think the use of blogs was an entertaining experience and like last semester, allowed me develop my English in a better manner. Using this platform for develop my writing skills and my grammar, I learned to explain my ideas of a best manner. Also, I think this method is effective because required read other post and know other kind of redaction and compare with my English level.

But, in spite of the learned, I think that yet I need to practice the listening comprehension and understand how other people express. I frequently practice watch movies and trying to understand before to read the subtitles.

Now, talking about how I use my level English in daily life, generally I read scientific papers for the University trying to understand as much as possible. Also, I practice for understand other topics outside my career, and improved my comprehension until becoming in a natural skill.

 I’m not feeling prepared for visit an English country, but with practice I hope to achieve them in a near future.

Well, that’s all for this semester, I hope we continue learning and applying this important language for to complement the learning in the University with the experience that delivering the English speaking countries.

2014 Have you had a good year?

Hi everyone, today I’ll write about the good and bad things that have in my life.

Talking about the good things, I can mention scholar achievements as when I was in the School (8^th grade), the generation calls me his representative in graduation to read the final speeches. In the High school, when I was graduate, my marks was between the best of my generation and his allowed me postulate to Universidad de Chile in a career that I wanted. Now, talking about general good things, I feature my friends, my friends was a really good persons and I consider them into the great achievements ever, I don’t regret having met any of them, all they taught me something important in my life.

If I think something bad in my life, I choose specific situations in that my acts was not the best, like discussions with relatives or one or two friends in which my decisions are not the corrects and I have acted badly.

This year, I think join some of money and travel to Brazil with Francisca (my girlfriend). For many reasons I don’t star to join the money, because the University takes me important part of time and I have not time for search a job. When I finish this academic season, I’ll found a half-time job or maybe a full time employed. Also I have plans to remodel my room that I don’t finished and the time will be postponed more and more.

Let's talk about money

Hi everyone!

Today I’ll write about the importance of Money in a daily life.

The money in my daily life, each year have more importance because the money I destination in the university, transport, personal cost is more and more. When I go a party or I go with friends some place, I don’t forget to bring some money with me.

My expenses frequently are in my pets (I have two, a cat and dog) buying food for all the month. Also I spend a lot in parties with my friends or some things for me like a food, clothing or small indulgences. The transport is something I use a lot of money and every week I spending around the $3.000.

The first semester, I was very good management my money, every month I receipt a scholarship “PAE” and I join 2 or 3 PAEs, so, in a winter holidays I gathered more than $100.000, and the two past years I realized similar management. But, for reasons that I don’t know, after week of national holidays, I spend my money very fast and for December the PAE I spend before 2 weeks jajaja.

Now, in a hypothetic case in which I become a millionaire, my first action would place much of the money in a bank, to exploit the interest and the rest of money I spend pay familiar liabilities, buy properties and enjoy with my friends in a nice place.

I don’t think I ever need pawn any belongings, but if I really need, I think that pawn my computer or jewels like a bracelet, but only if is a danger situation.

How Green are You?

Hello Everybody!!

Today I'll write about environmentally friendly practices. Well, I guess I was learning about environmentally education since I was a child. My family always talked with me about of care of nature and animals, so these formed my environmental awareness. Nowadays I don’t recycling, but I think collecting drink cans for sell and help with recycling.

At present, I don’t belong in any eco-association, because the time that I have is not enough for to participate actively, but constantly I read about environmental problematic both Chile and other countries for in a near future to help against social and environmental problems.

When I visit my friends, I tell about the care of environment to the children of his houses, I tell about the importance of ecosystem and the friendly practices that we must have with our nature, animals and cities. My parents also have a great environmental awareness and we care the garden and the urban trees out of our house.

Now, talking about the footprint, this is a great theme, and all families must have at family gatherings. We must try to reduce our footprint in daily activities like cooking, shower, electronics, and try to use less the motor vehicles and walk more time for to go a little distance.

In Santiago and society in general, missing more alternatives to recycle and I think if the people to see what happened with his recycle material, more and more people with the time will be added, because when we don’t have idea we’re achieving the enthusiasm fades.

A piece of News

Hi everyone again! Today I’ll write about the Ebola and new woman with this virus in Spain.

Since some months, the Ebola virus was in the mouth of many people and a lot of papers, television or radio. The virus was born in African continent, and is characterized for a great rate of mortality. Different organizations around the world and this people are frequently threatened by contagion. At September 26, a missionary called Manuel García was death by Ebola and her nursery also contracted the virus. For this reason, the nursery became in the 3th case treated in Spain and the 1th case of infection in Spain land. The two after people treated in hospitals of this country was died in few months. The woman has 44 years old and a couple.

When the woman had symptoms as high fever, she goes to Hospital Alarcón and the Minister of health talk about the protocol of how to treat patients like these. She says that medical personnel acted following the emergency norms and with the people is all secure.

Reports are confused because the security norms for treat patients are very extremes and the contagion form is a mystery. 

Around the 60 people were in contact with the woman and all are under medical supervision.

The investigations continue looking for answers and manner about treat this woman and future infections.

My Future Job

Hello everyone, today I’ll write about My Future Job. First, I entered in this career because I like the environmental themes, but I didn’t have any idea about Forestry, only a general idea and for this reason I decided forestry. In these two and a half years, I’m interested in themes like a hydrology, arid zones, or non timber forest products (NTFP). I believe that this is the forestry future to regulate the environmental resources. At University, I prefer the summer practices than normal subject, this is the real place when I learn and I feel fine, but between Practices I or II I choose the number II that was a good and very long practice, very useful and funny.

When I get out of the University, I want to work with small-owners to help to use better their resources and learning (them and me) more about environmental and economic problem resources. With more experience I think that I’ll buy a plot of land and I use the place to work and develop my ideas about the NTFP. Also I want to work any time in the north of country learning about arid zones and hydric management.

To select my job I’ll consider aspect like final objectives of company, its mission, the job in a society and communities. I think that these aspects are very important to choose a job and provides my services as a professional.

My strengths in forestry are capacity of innovation with common products; I have a lot of ideas to develop in NTFP, for example. But my weakness is little interests in themes that I don’t consider relevant to my life (For these reason is very important to apply in a company that I’m really interested with its objectives jajaja).

My Best Friend

Hi everyone again.

Today I’m going to talk about my best friend. Well, I have many friends in my life, but best friends I consider only one, this person talk with me every day, play with me, share her time with me and also is my girlfriend, her name is Francisca. I meet Francisca since 3 years ago in a reunion with common friends. She and I starts a good relationship with the time and with the months, she was transform in my best friend.

I consider my best friend because with Fran I have my best memories and we share every week crazy and funny moments that I want to live for a long time more. Also, we can talk about personal problems waiting a great answer to other part or simply a hold. But the principal reason to consider my best friend to Fran, is although we are a couple, the relationship is ever of friends, the confidence to me is something that I don’t change for nothing. In the tome of relationship, I have really good memories, like funny moments on the hill, or a day in safari giving food to animals, but the best moments occur when we go out together.

The Best Concert I'be had

Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk about the best concert I' be had.

The 2011, was a year which I don't study in university, the paste year I finished the school and I don't know what I study in university. For this reason I work all the year and prepare me for PSU, I meet a good friends and in November, the band Pearl Jam arrives to Chile for a concert. When I know this notice, I join all my dinner and buy the ticket for the show with a friend.

The concert day, I work very hard and go out before the time, with my friend go to subway and we get to the Monumental stadium. Inside, we walk for the camp to first positions. The concert starts at time and the crowd was very crazy. 

This band I like, because is the best in his gender, the lyrics, music, and strength. The first song was "Unthought known" and played without stop for long time. The band and the crowd don't stop for the 2:30 hours and 31 songs! Was a great moment and I have good memories, when the show is over, my shirt was all wet and the thermal sensation was very hot, but I was in other world jajaja.

My Favorite Movie

Hi everyone. Today I'm going to talk about of my favorite movie.

Really, I don't have a favorite movie, but I like many movies. For example, since 3 weeks ago, I watch "The Number 23", the main character is Jim Carrey, and this is his first psychological thriller movie. His character is a family father and an animal control officer of a city in United States. The plot begins when Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey) starts to read a book called "The number 23". Walter finds a lot of similarities between "Fingerling" (the main character of book) and himself. The characters of book have stories with number 23 and this number appears constantly in Walter life. Finally, in the book, Walter remember the true, he's a Fingerling and he write the book, but in the past he suffered memory loss and lived in a Medical Institute for any time, then he know his wife and begins a new life.

My favorite part is when Walter discovers his past life and remembers all when he wrote the book, because it's not expected that final.

I like it, because the plot, places and characters achieve catch my attention for all his 98 minutes without realizing. For this reason I don't change anything of this movie and I watch many times again.

A place I would like to visit

Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk about a country I would like to visit.

Since I'm a child, I was interested in countries like Australia, Ireland or England because their culture, history and nature are very exciting.

In Australia, the nature and environment is similar to Chile, and to effect of job, this is a place to think. The development in environment area is a model to learn and apply in Chilean forestry.

Countries like Ireland and England I think are places to visit like a tourist, because I like their history, monuments, forest, people, and life system.

Generally, these countries have an environmental education and this is something I would like to see and live.

If I visit these countries sometime, I do learn the most possible and I will enjoy all surprises of their culture.

Really, I don't know if living, study or work in any of these countries, because my objective and hope are to work in Chile, and develop my skills in my country, but I'm sure that I will visit other countries, I will treat to stay for all long as possible to enjoy the experience.

Hi everyone.

I'm comeback to blogger. In this final semester of English course, I hope to learn the most usefull tools for understand and develop my english skills.

To start, my name is Miguel, I'm 21 years old and I live in Maipú. My family is composed for my parents, my grandmother and my pets, Choli (cat) and Florencia (dog).

As hobbies, when I have free time, I like watch movies, play with my pets, and go out with my friends. Also, with I have more free time, like in vacations, I practice swimming.

This is my 3th year at Forestry, and I'm very excited with the career. I decide study Forestry because I'm interested for environmental problems, like water shortage in the north of country, and I think this career is the best to fight against problematic. 

Also I like forestry for his final practice in summer, share with my friends, learn about forest and his environment I don't change for other career.

Well, I hope the best for all in this final English semester.

Semester 2 Level 4

Final semester post

Hi everyone for last time this semester! Today I will talk about of my experience using this platform and suggest new ideas for this.

Using this platform for develop my writing skills and my grammar, I learned to explain my ideas of a best manner. I think the reason is talk about interesting topics and not typical themes like science them that are very bored when they are obligation. Also, I think this method is effective because required read other post and know other kind of redaction and compare with my English level. Personally, I have interacted with blogger platform for other subjects in high school, but never develop my writing skills. Write and read post, helped me to learn other expressions for apply in daily and professional life.

Like a suggestion, I think the topics to use occasionally should be about forestry to practice technical terms for at time to read papers for other subjects and understand of best form. I believe understand a technical paper is a great challenge and essential tool to complement the classes in university and also know new advances in my study area.

Well, that was it in this semester and I hope to continue learning and improving this essential tool for a globalized world in the next period.

Future travels and hopes to learn.

Hi everyone, have passed some days since I write the last time. This week I'm going to talk about the travels, the countries what I will like to go and my plans about it.

When I was child, I will visit countries like England or Scotland, but only as tourist, known their culture, nature, the cities and the people living there. In movies I saw his forest, camps and also interesting facts of his history.

With the time, my interest has been changed and added new places. In future travels to other countries, I would know his environments, problematic with these, innovation in my study area, advances on themes like energy, etc.

In America, countries like Mexico, have great employed rates in forestry, or Honduras, where provides around 3% to PIB (0.5 more than Chile).

Also, I would like to know other kind of fauna and knowing how try this. 

Writing this, I coming to my head new ideas and I understand the importance to know different cultures, because help me develop as professional and improve my chances of working.

According time advance, I will think if to live or  work in other country, but today, I would like to visit many countries for learn and apply in my professional life.

Hi everyone, today I'll talk about my favorites films, actors, and what I like about theme.

In my daily life, I don't have much time to see movies, but when I go a cinema or houses of friends, I see movies of kind as action, war, medieval, fantastic, thriller, well; I like movies with good script and arguments. Specifically, in movies like Braveheart, Gladiator or Troy, I remember a fight scenes and passion of principal characters to complete his objectives. Also I remember the atmosphere of Fight Club and great and intense scenes. The work of Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood as actors and directors I like because delivered his talent in create tension and passion to introduce the people inside screen.

Since child, I like braveheart and is my favourite film, this movie has strength, sentiment, passion, plot and action, I never bored to see it and less the final scene, is a piece of art.

Pollution concentration in southern Chile

Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk about pollution concentration in southern Chile due to wet firewood. 

These days, the south of country (in cities like Talca, Los Ángeles and Chillán) has great pollution quantities due to utilization wet firewood to cook and heat homes. Of course, there more factors for the great pollution quantities in these cities, but the misuse of firewood and reduced cost in illegal commercialization helped to increase particular material, like a PM10 or PM2.5, and affect human health.

For this reason, the authorities declared environmental emergency for fifth time in six days. The emergency affect the industries activities, fireplaces and any other activities related with firewood, decreasing labor productivity in the zone. In Chillán, the emergencies continue because environmental condition helps pollution concentration.

CONAF with firewood sellers of region of Bío-Bío made a contract for improve the quality organic fuel and to stop contamination. The contract seeks to stop wet firewood sel, because this is the reason for the great damage to environment. The combustion of water on wood causes large amounts of smoke and bring respiratory diseases. Add this, the wet firewood combustion helps remove the heat capacity of this so takes up more family resources.
Is forestry work find efficient and environmentally friendly solutions to stop this sanitary problem and prevent in future.

2014 FIFA World Cup - Brazil

This year, the world will witness to 20ª FIFA World Cup, in this case in Brazil.

The whole world stops to see a new football date with 32 countries as protagonists including Chile. The nacional team prepares to match against Australia, Netherlands and Spain in group phase. 32 are countries are participating in 62 matches with only one champion, I hope it's Chile. Missing 23 days to opening the championship and the organizing country still not over the infraestructure for world cup.

The Brazil government used public money for finish the stadium, Brazilians have been protesting against this abuse and demand for correct use as hospitals, education and poverty. 

In my opinion, I rather the money are use in real needs because poor people have no choice and less opinion about use of public resources, in this case, only strikes help.

The football move mass and entertaining at difficult times, but there are priorities and the quality life of people are most important.

My Favourite Photograph

Hi everyone.

Today I'm going to talk about my favourite photograph. In this photo appear my friends from university a day at the beach in Constitución. Was a Saturday January of this year, a free day in which all we visit the beach, without concerns after finish the first week of "Práctica II".  I like this photo because I and my friends just we enjoyed the moment, played on the sand, swim in the beach and we share a cold beers. The before day was a hard day, the final test of the week finished very late in the night and wanted a relaxing moment. 

That was a great day, I remember with pleasure. In the night, we share a roast with staff of Pantanillos and after we celebrate the end of the first work week. 

For this reason, this is a of my favourite photographs, of course I have more appreciated photos, but this photo I like because I remember a day of relaxation that today I need.

Valparaiso burning in flames

Hi everyone, today I’m going to talk about the disaster in Valparaiso, the city-port in flames. Many are the reason to explain this disaster, but the idea more accepted says a birds with their weight cut electric cables and initiated the burn. This disaster is named “The greatest disaster of Valparaiso” and their 15 murdered and more to 10000 affected confirms this. As the flames happen in hill slopes, the wind can move little flames over to 1km of distance increase surface damaged. The quantity of trash, waste and vegetation on the hill operate as combustible in all area affected complicating the work of CONAF and firefighters. The human and monetary resources are not enough for all area.

To prevent this situation, the government has to provide more resources to better tools and staff specialist in fire management. The maintenance of hills, water reserves, educate to population about the dangers of accumulation waste is one form to help, but is something that will take many years.

Today I'm going to talk about the technology in my daily life. 

Since I'm a student, the use of computers with internet is something indispensable to work in homeworks, reports, to study and many things more in the school, high school and university. 

Now, to develop new activities in the university for reports, the use of software it's an obligation. With the internet, the quantity of useful and faster information it's a necessity for all students. The distance between persons from others cities, regions and other countries is no excuse to work.

The cellphones are another tool very useful, let save information and transporting them to other places comfortably. The smartphones are a mini-computers, creates file text, data file, used as calculator, take a picture and many others applications for daily life.

In conclussion, for a student, the use of technology it's a very important tool for her develop as professional.

Hi everyone.

Today I'm going to talk about of new academic period 2014. This term I have six subjects, two less than before term and for this I have more free time in the week. My goals this year are to approve all the subjects with good scores.

I'm very interested in applying new tools such as: global information system, learning how to diagnose plant diseases and applying genetic tools to have a good vivarium.

As an extracurricular activity, I wanna have a job as seller of beer with a friend, for this reason, I didn't take more subjects as electives in this academic period.

I hope to achieve all my goals and use my free time for good results.

Hi my friends!

Today i talk about to immigration.

In actually, the immigrant population is increasing each year. I see as places as Estación Central, or center Santiago walk persons of Haiti or Colombia with more frequency. This is very good to chilean culture because provides more diversity with new foods, costumes and traditions that mixes with the our.

But, all is no good, because the immigrant population to increase, the jobs decrease in the country. The immigrant persons work for less money and more work hours and difficult to living in this country. Also the local population discriminate this person for his reputation of "steal jobs".

The increase of the immigrant population are forced to live in

great groups in little spaces, reducing her quality life.
Our country culturally still have best ways to welcome immigrant population in topic of jobs, housing and education to continue growing.
